Trend Forecasting
Trends are a way to understand consumers through data. If brands want to create relevant consumer experiences, knowing which trends are relevant to their consumers is critical to driving business.
Beamly Trends Work
I helped develop Beamly’s Trend Forecasting practice through writing and crafting proprietary methodologies for Macro, Micro and Evergreen Trends. I partnered with an Insights Manager and a Data Scientist to develop and fine tune benchmarks and forecasting script. The result was a robust approach that married art and data science to identify and evaluate culturally: brand, retailer and audience-relevant Macro and Micro Trends at the right time, with the right actions and backed by a data-informed validation process.
Walgreens
Because of our internal success with crafting trend reports, we were able to secure a scope to create quarterly trend reports for the Walgreens beauty team which they used to help inform digital and in-store merchandising strategy. The reports involve predicting anywhere from 6-12 months in advance.
